Dr. Sylvia Deganus is one of 5 women gynaecologists working in Ghana's public health system. "I've always tried to be the best in whatever I do" says Dr.Deganus. She works at Tema General Hospital, which takes delivery of over 8,000 babies yearly. Her dedication to saving lives was recently recognised by the International Federation of Gynaecology and Obstetrics (FIGO), with a prestigious award. She strongly advocates for more women to join the profession. "The world is at their feet. They can do anything they want to do as long as they put their heart to it.
